Unlocking the Digital Era of Collectibles: Altr’s Light Digitisation
In our rapidly evolving digital world, one thing remains timeless — the value and charm of vintage collectibles. Whether it’s that decades-old heirloom passed down through generations or a luxury asset acquired from an exclusive auction, these items not only resonate with rich histories but also with considerable financial value.
Altr is now introducing an exciting feature: light digitisation. This function enables collectors to digitise their prized possessions, integrating them seamlessly into the modern digital landscape.
The Dawn of Digital Vintage
Imagine owning a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO or a Patek Philippe 2499 watch. These aren’t just physical items; they’re stories, legacies, and symbols of epochs gone by. Now, imagine capturing the essence of these timeless treasures in a digital format, a representation that holds its essence and value in the digital space. That’s the real-world value Altr brings to the table for collectible enthusiasts.
The Seamless Journey of Light Digitisation
One of the benefits of light digitisation is the ability to view your physical collection on a tidy digital dashboard/collection page. The process is straightforward:
— Initiating the Process: Navigate to the dedicated section within your account and create a new light digitisation request.
— Documenting Proof: Fill in the required digitisation form, ensuring you provide all pertinent details alongside photographic evidence verifying your ownership.
— The Birth of an NFT: Once approved, an NFT, enriched with metadata akin to what’s provided by Dealer Oracles on Altr, is created.
— Wallet Integration: This NFT is dispatched to the requestor’s wallet address.
— Personal Digital Gallery: The acquired NFT takes its place in the Collection section of the user’s profile.
— Stepping Stone to Full Digitisation: Owners of the NFT can opt for full digitisation when this feature becomes available (more details below).
Glimpsing the Future: Full Digitisation Awaits
Light digitisation is just the tip of the iceberg. Altr is building an ecosystem where these digitised vintage assets can be employed as collateral for lending, unlocking untapped liquidity avenues in the collectibles domain. That’s a tale for another article, another day (but refer to our previous article for a glimpse).
Light Digitisation is set to be launched in early September. Stay tuned as we bridge the gap between cherished past treasures and their digital future.
